Reports – MRCE-TZ

Impact Report

At Methadone Recovery Community Empowerment (MRCE-TZ), we are committed to reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS and promoting safer health practices within vulnerable communities. As part of our ongoing efforts, we recently conducted a successful condom distribution campaign in the Mwananyamala ward, targeting high-risk groups, including drug users, women, and youth. This initiative, in collaboration with local government authorities, aims to curb new HIV infections and promote awareness of preventive measures.

We’ve achieved key milestones, including reaching over 1,200 individuals daily at the Mwananyamala MAT Clinic, enhancing access to condoms, and educating the community about HIV prevention. However, challenges remain, such as the low response from women and the ongoing sharing of needles among drug users. MRCE-TZ continues to work diligently to address these issues and ensure that vital health services reach those who need them most.
