The organization is registered under the Tanzania Non-Governmental Act of 2002. MRCE TZ is a Key and Vulnerable Populations lead organization founded by group of people who were previous drug users, the organization was established to address issues of drugs use, identifying and reaching out to key vulnerable populations in order to empower and educate them on various risk behaviours such as alcoholism, drug use, and unsafe sexual practices. The organization possesses a unique understanding of the challenges faced by adolescent girls, women, youth, and communities, enabling them to effectively mobilize, engage, and motivate individuals to lead positive changes.
Notably, MRCE has achieved considerable success in meeting the specific needs of various groups, including people living with HIV/AIDS, individuals with Hepatitis B and C, drug users, female sex workers, those struggling with alcoholism, and individuals affected by diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis (TB), and epidemics like Covid-19.
Additionally, the organization is dedicated to providing education on both communicable and non-communicable diseases, with the aim of creating a healthier generation.
It is important to highlight that MRCE-TZ is a non-religious organization and does not discriminate based on gender or sex.
